[Application of Contol to vertigo cases].

The authors applied Contol (Chlordiazepoxide) to 26 cases of the patients complained of vertigo. It was effective in 11 cases, gave some relief of the complaint in 9 cases, but was ineffective in 6 cases. In this study, Contol was found to be effective largely in those cases with chief complaints of dizziness and heavy head which were considered to be functional and reversible and of retro-labyrinthine origin, and in those cases with nearly normal hearing. It was also noted that Contol fairly well controlled the accompaning persistent tinnitus and motionsickness.
